Taylor in the hotel, all ready to go to pool with all her accessories. In the background you can see the television showing Monsters Inc. which we were enjoying watching.

Here is Peyton at the hotel indoor pool playing with the large beach ball. She was happy just doing that for awhile, then decided she did want to get wet after all.

Taylor with her new "swimmies" and actually staying afloat and kicking!

Oh, what a camera shy girl! :)

Here is Peyton with her duckie, ready to get in the water now! Her whole body relaxed as I twirled her in the water. She was happy as long as I held the duck and her inside of it.

Taylor digging with her hands in the wet sand at Antelope Island. When it was time to go she realized how dirty she had gotten. Having a piggy back ride on Grandpa Ken back through all the sand bar to the car kept her mind off being all covered with the sand.

This is a view of the road leading into Antelope Island.

Looking out from the Visitors Center at the Great Salt Lake.

Wild antelope grazing on the island.

A view from the car of the antelope.
We drove from Colorado Springs for a change instead of flying and even took Geranimo with us.
After Ken got off school Friday we left and spent the night at hotel in Cheyenne, WY
Lucky for us it was clear weather. Sometimes March can bring blizzards to WY and the interstate can be closed for days at a time.
We stopped at all the fun "trucker stops" along Interstate 80 for yummy junk food such as potato wedges and orange sugar gummies. It's funny how we would never eat like that at home, but something about being in the car all day, changes your cravings.
Unfortunately Ken had a horrible head cold that got worse as the day went on Saturday.
He was a real trooper though... and we made it to Layton Utah to spend a few days visiting our family for Easter.
Taylor always looks forward to going swimming in the "otel" pool, so after a wonderful Easter Sunday together, we spend Monday swimming while Grandpa Ken headed over to Tj and Katie's to do some electrical work. I wish I had pictures of the new lighting fixtures, but they look fantastic!
That afternoon Ken and I and the girls drove to Antelope Island, which isn't too far from Clearfield. It was an amazing place!! We didn't realize how far we would have to hike over rough sand to get to the Salt Lake, but once we started out we hated to be quitters, so we hopped, piggy backed, carried and DID get to the shoreline. Taylor loved throwing stones across the water, and Peyton just loved getting dirty in the wet sand.
After we got back in the car and visited at the Visitors Center we saw these antelope grazing.
How appropriate.....Antelopes on ANTELOPE Island!!
Taylor and I went to Ogden that evening and enjoyed Tara's YW New Beginning program.
As YW president she did a beautiful job planning and carrying it all out. The theme had to do with flowers and each parent of a YW chose a flower to represent their daughter. No two were the same, and it was a sweet evening.
Tara and Bryce's wee little one is due April 12th, but Tara looks very ready. Guess it may not be a "wee little one". More of just a "little one".
We are VERY anxious for the next few weeks to go by so we can meet him!
These pictures are from camera phone, but today got a new camera, so the very NEXT BLOG will be with the new camera. ( If I can figure all the directions out )
